Get ready to celebrate! Gene Johnson, founder of Gullifty’s Restaurant, celebrated the restaurant’s 40th anniversary with his biggest fans on Saturday, July 25.

Gullifty’s, a Main Line tradition, opened its doors in 1975. The restaurant has been owned and operated by the same family, headed by Gene and his wife Betty Jane (B.J.), ever since. Jason Johnson, Gene and B.J.’s son, has now taken over the daily operations of the business as general manager.

The anniversary party held live music featuring Ben Arnold as well as karaoke. A celebratory anniversary cake, along with food and drink specials all day long, topped off the celebration. The signature draft beer for Gullifty’s 40th anniversary celebration was provided by Victory Brewing Company.

All proceeds will be donated to Pennies in Action, a local organization that supports breast cancer vaccine research to treat and prevent breast cancer.

“We have served over seven million customers since our doors opened in 1975,” said Jason. “We look forward to serving millions more in the years to come.”
