Great American Pub to Open in Phoenixville

BOTTOMS UP: The Hemcher family is prepping for the summer opening of its fourth Great American  Pub, this time in Phoenixville. It’s taking up residence in the Columbia House, a 19th-century Victorian-style building on Bridge Street.

SHELF LIFE: Local canning expert Marisa McClellan has garnered quite the following with her Food in Jars blog. Now, her new cookbook,  Preserving by the Pint (Running Press, 192 pages), offers recipes for blueberry-maple jam, mustard-rhubarb chutney, sorrel pesto and many more seasonal small batches.
