Get Out There

A peek inside Wayne’s new Out There Outfitters.

Even if you don’t consider yourself the outdoorsy-type, you may be singing a different tune after a visit to Wayne’s newest specialty shop, Out There Outfitters. Zeke Sieglaff and wife Tory opened the shop this summer with the mission of bringing the best in outdoor lifestyle clothing, footwear and accessories to the Main Line. The Sieglaffs owned two similar stores in the Tampa, Fla., area before moving back to Zeke’s native Chester County.

“Anyone can walk into this store and find something that they can identify with and like,” says Zeke Sieglaff. “People have really been excited about the brands we’re carrying.”

Out There features an extensive selection from Patagonia for men, women and children—most of it made from organic cotton. You’ll also find apparel from Arc’teryx, Horny Toad, Lole and Mountain Hardware. And don’t miss the hip polo shirts from Johnnie-O (the designer brother of actor Chris O’Donnell). An impressive shoe selection includes hiking footwear from Merrell, Keen, J401, Hunter Wellington, Teva and more. If you’re looking for a new pair of shades, check out the stylish selection from Smith Optics and Maui Jim.

With two small children of their own, the Sieglaffs devote a section of the store to kids’ clothing—everything from Serena & Lily market slings for infants to 212 Mountain Sprouts fleece.

“We’re constantly asked if we’re part of a chain,” says Sieglaff, who takes it is a compliment. “This store was created from the hard work of myself, my wife and our staff. Everything we sell here we’ve handpicked and we’re passionate about.”
