Easy Shell
In the center of Denise Campbell’s new Wayne boutique, the Pink Turtle, there’s a comfy seating area with a couch, two side chairs and a plasma TV on the wall. Why waste precious shop space? “I wanted to create the most relaxing shopping environment for women,” says Campbell. “If they come in with their husbands, boyfriends or kids, the TV will occupy them while the women shop.”
Buying clothes in peace isn’t the only luxury at the Pink Turtle. Whether you’re looking for something backyard barbecue casual or cocktail party sophisticated, Campbell has a variety of lines for every occasion. “I like to buy pieces that are traditional and classic with a twist,” she says. “I consider it Soho meets the Main Line.”
Many of the store’s designer labels—like Julie Haus (pictured) and Raven—can be found in Bergdorf Good-man and Barneys. You’ll also find select items from the Lily Pulitzer line, including this season’s wicker clutch and polo shirts. High-fashion items from Main Line-bred designers Shannon Casey and Elizabeth Sall of Dakota Martin include the signature scarf top and the Anne skirt, a cotton canvas mini. Colorful tunics and short-sleeved hoodies from Julep Lounge—a line popular with Eva Longoria and other celebs—are super-chic and super-soft. Try on a pair of Earnest Sewn jeans (said to flatter any figure) and show off your perfect pedicure in sandals from Bernardo. Or get sporty with a hip pair of Brazilian-made sneakers from Klub Nico. 129 N. Wayne Ave., Wayne, (610) 975-3575.
