Emily Wolfson isn’t a pro at catching, hitting or pitching. But when it comes to painting baseballs, she hits a home run every time. The Bala Cynwyd resident is founder of Unforgettaballs, a concept that originated 12 years ago when she realized white leather was perfect to paint on. “I enjoy working small,” says Wolfson. “Everyone assumes I’m a big baseball fan, but I’m not.”

Her handpainted images exhibit exceptional detail—something she credits to her background in architecture. After selling hundreds of balls for hundreds of dollars each, she began screen-printing her work to make the price more affordable. Wolfson now has an inventory of more than 60 designs representing major cities like Philadelphia, Chicago and Boston, as well as legendary baseball venues like Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium and Wrigley Field (sorry, no Citizens Bank Park).

There’s also the adorable “My First Baseball” collection—each of which can be personalized for a new baby. Wolfson’s most recent design honors the arrival of the King Tut exhibit. The ball features a full sarcophagus of King Tut on one side and a hieroglyphic Egyptian burial scene on the other. More than 500,000 Unforgettaballs have been sold through catalogs, in retail outlets like Neiman Marcus and on QVC, where 800 rolled out in less than six minutes.
