Jim Waltzer (Thomson Gale, 275 pages)
MLT contributor Jim Waltzer’s first novel is set in Center City, where vigilante Richard Keene, who is blessed (or cursed) with freakishly acute hearing, takes it upon himself to investigate a murder he swears he heard through the door of his apartment building. With its fast pacing and matter-of-fact voice, this mystery will hold you until the end.
