The last 16 months Natasha Leggero’s career has been anything but “another period.” They’ve been more of a Gold Rush. She appeared on the Roast of Justin Bieber, where she took down three other roasters with a right-hook-punch of a joke. She gave an uproariously funny performance during her Comedy Central standup special Natasha Leggero: Live at Bimbo’s. In June, Another Period—which she co-created, wrote, produced and stars in—began its second season, and she’s also in Dice, the new on Showtime series starring Andrew Dice Clay. For Another Period, Leggero pairs up with Riki Lindhome as socialite sisters in early 20th-century Newport, R.I. Think latter-day Kardashians without the surgical enhancements and selfies but the same thirst for fame. Leggero’s character, Lillian Abigail Hitler Schmemmerhorn-Fish—who sometimes dons a tiara—definitely wouldn’t blend in with the July 4 re-enactors around Independence Hall.
1. When you see Philadelphia on your itinerary, you think …
2. Hypothetical scenario: You have all day to do whatever you want in Philadelphia. What do you do?
I would go to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Then I’d go to Reading Terminal Market, get lunch and watch the Amish for a few hours.
3. If you were going on a trip, pick four comedians (living or dead) to join you on a cross-country road trip. Who would ride shotgun and why?
Todd Barry, Tig Notaro, Zach Galifianakis and Bill Cosby. Bill Cosby would obviously drive. Todd Barry would ride shotgun, just to make it really awkward.
4. Another Period takes place in the early 1900s. How would Lillian fare if she were BFF’s with Betsy Ross in 1776?
Well, Lillian doesn’t like to sew, so they probably wouldn’t get along.
