LET IT GROW: Founding Farmers—part of the Washington, D.C.-based restaurant partly owned by several Midwestern farmers’ unions—is set to open soon in King of Prussia Town Center. The 14,000-square-foot space is two levels, with an in-house bakery on the ground floor and a main dining room and bar upstairs.
EATING EXTRAVAGANZA: The Philly Farm & Food Fest is one of the country’s biggest single-day food events. With a focus on area farmers, artisans and regional experts in agriculture and processing, the April 8 event includes live kitchen demos, a local libations lounge, a kids’ corral, and a cheese-centric convention-within-a-convention. =
WE’LL TOAST TO THAT: North Carolina-based eatery Famous Toastery has opened its first Philadelphia-area location. The decade-old gourmet breakfast destination debuted at Main Street at Exton in the former Forage American Brasserie spot. The menu features avocado omelets and eggs Benedict, plus delicious dishes from the griddle like cinnamon-raisin French toast. Lunch offers sandwiches, wraps, melts and salads.
