FOREWORD: From the Publisher

As I write this letter, we’re in the middle of the holiday rush. It’s hard to believe 2007 is just around the corner. Where did the year go—or better yet, where did the last 10 years go? This is a time when we think about all the wonderful things that have happened and the friends we’ve made. The last year has been especially memorable for all of us at Main Line Today, as we celebrated our
10th anniversary.

From the beginning, we’ve taken pride in bringing our readers and advertisers a quality publication that reflects the very essence of the Main Line and Philadelphia’s Western Suburbs. We were thrilled to introduce our new redesign in the September 2006 issue; the editorial staff deserves a hearty round of applause for seeing it through to its stunning fruition. We also want to thank our readers and advertisers for their nice comments. We love hearing from all of you.

Main Line Today remains committed to giving back to the communities we serve. Each year, we sponsor more than 40 charitable and social events supporting many worthwhile charities, including the March of Dimes, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association, CASA Youth Advocates, Operation Warm, City Team, Rocky Run YMCA and Home of the Sparrow, just to name a few.

Our Best of the Main Line and Western Suburbs Party held in August at QVC Studio Park was another great success. I want to thank QVC for being our host sponsor for the past nine years. We couldn’t have raised the more than $500,000 without their support. I also want to thank our “Best of” committee; their time and dedication made the 2006 event the party of the year.

This year’s party will be held at Drexelbrook Thursday, July 26, so be sure to put it on your calendar. It’s a great evening of food, fun and entertainment—and we’d love to see you there. On that note, you’ll find our 2007 Best of the Main Line ballot inside this issue, so be sure to weigh in on your favorite restaurants, salons, boutiques, celebrities and more.

Main Line Today has a lot of exciting things planned for 2007. We just welcomed new advertising director Jim Bauer to our staff. He’ll be out and about in the area, so be sure to say hello. We’re also excited about our new revamped and expanded website ( Our online goal is to provide you with everything you need to know about the area. Check out our dining and healthcare listings and our expanded calendar of events. And sign up for our monthly e-mail blasts and view the latest party pictures—you just might be in there.

We look forward to keeping you entertained and informed for the next 10 years and beyond. And we hope you will continue to make Main Line Today your magazine.

Have a wonderful New Year.
