We check in with local boutique owners Fran D’Ambrosio (Ella’s Grove) and Tina Corrado (Posh Collections), who offer their tips for compiling your fall-fashion wish list.
TOPS.
Novelty shirting is hot, with one-shoulder and off-the-shoulder styles still in high demand. “A huge trend is choker-banded blouses,” says Corrado. “I’ve also seen a lot of capes, shawls and ruanas.”
JEANS.
Move over, skinny styles, and make room for high-waisted flares. “We have a few denim designers in-store, but I love DL1961—they’re our tried-and-true brand—and Henry & Belle,” says Corrado. Summer’s fringe trend will also carry over into fall. “I have some great fringe jeans and embroidered denim coming in from 3×1,” D’Ambrosio says.
JACKETS.
D’Ambrosio will be offering velvet and quilted-velvet jackets from Raquel Allegra and Pepin. “Leather jackets are always one of my favorites, and I have a lot of new styles coming in from Nour Hammour,” she says. “They’re beautiful.”
