EPICURE: Quick Bites

News & Notes

» Doesn’t anyone own a coffee maker anymore? There are now five coffee stops in Wayne and three in Paoli—not counting Wawa. Wayne has Gryphon, Starbucks, Procopio and Cream & Sugar and now Saxbys. Meanwhile, It’s a Grind is set to open in Paoli, which already has Tradewinds and Starbucks, not to mention a Saxbys down the road in Malvern.

» Oktoberfest extended: Despite a global hops shortfall, Downingtown’s Victory Brewing Company managed to secure enough of the good stuff for 50 barrels of its Braumeister Harvest Pils, a robust pilsner created with whole flower hops harvested just hours prior to being immersed in the brew kettle. If it’s good enough for the New York Times, it’s good enough for us.

» Lush life: Chaddsford Winery and Body Restoration (1611 Walnut St., Philadelphia) have teamed up to create the region’s only vinotherapy program using antioxidant-rich nutrients procured from the winery’s 2006 harvest for exceptional anti-aging results. Call (215) 569-9599 to learn more.
