» Kudos to Keith Rudolf, chef de cuisine at Brandywine Prime Seafood & Chops, whose talents landed him in the chef’s seat for the annual dinner for New York City’s James Beard House in April.

» On May 7, winners of the 2007 James Beard Foundation Awards will be announced. Among the finalists is Jose Garces (Amada, Tinto), nominated for Best Chef in the Mid-Atlantic. As hot a foodie haven as we think our city is, Garces is Philly’s lone chef rep on the Beard list—though WHYY-FM’s A Chef’s Table, hosted by Normandy Farm’s Jim Coleman, was nominated for best radio show. The Beard Foundation awards are the culinary equivalent of the Oscars.

» Bryan Sikora and Aimee Olexy, of Django fame, have given us another reason to lollygag in Kennett Square: Talula’s Table (State and Union streets, 610-444-8255), a gourmet market and bakery with a community table that can be reserved for dinner.
