Founder, Cameras for Climate Change

“I’ve always felt a calling for the natural environment,” says Emily Scott.
And her interest has only grown over the years, culminating in Cameras for Climate Change, a nonprofit she launched in 2019. “This is really a public epidemic in a way—it’s worldwide,” says Scott of the deteriorating state of the environment. “If we don’t do something soon, it’s going to be a problem for everybody.”
An amateur photographer, Scott takes photographs of the natural world and sells them as prints through her website, with proceeds going to the Environmental Defense Fund. “Nature is so beautiful, and it’s a shame that it’s going away,” she says.
A senior this fall at the Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School in West Chester, Scott is captain of the mock trial team and active with the yearbook club. In addition to Cameras for Climate Change, she volunteers as a bookkeeper with New Hampshire-based Orchids of Light Foundation, which connects those in need to necessary resources.
