Element Six Owner Shares Her Style Secrets

What is this Wayne boutique owner looking forward to wearing?

Kimberly Gleason-Hink, Owner of Element Six, Wayne

Personal style: I like to acquire basic quality pieces that will transcend seasons and then keep the look current with a few trendier items and accessories.

Favorite designers: As the owner/buyer for a women’s boutique, I would have to say I love all of the designers that we carry in our store. If I had to just pick one, for myself, it would be Feral Childe. I love how this line of clothing fits my figure, the superb construction, and the exquisite fabrics used.

She’s looking forward to wearing: Clothing in the deep-red (raisin, burgundy, plum) spectrum. I love the blue base to the colors. It makes everyone’s skin look vibrant and fresh.

She’s a: Clotheshorse. I love how the right outfit, with a good fit, can make me feel confident in any situation.

Style icon: I love the simple sophistication of Audrey Hepburn’s style. My present-day icon would be Michelle Obama. Her style is clean, approachable and modern classic.

Go-to casual outfit for a typical Saturday out: In the fall and winter, I love wearing a well-made pair of jeans, boots and a fabulous sweater. In the spring and summer, I love wearing an easy sundress and flats or a great sandal.

Go-to outfit for a Saturday night out in the city: My all-time favorite is a little black dress with boots or heels, depending on the atmosphere of the restaurant, and then, of course, something that sparkles.

Favorite clothing splurge: My jeans. I love good-quality, well-fitting jeans, and I am willing to splurge for these.

Favorite item in her closet: I have two cocktail dresses—one of black silk and one of red-gold watercolor silk—of my mother’s from 1958. Not only do I love the styling and quality, but they also remind me of my mom and her exquisite sense of style.
