On April 29, Freeman’s will bring to auction the personal treasures of late Main Line philanthropist Dorrance “Dodo” Hamilton. The more than 150 lots feature one-of-a-kind pieces of fine art, porcelain and silver amassed by the Strafford resident throughout her life. Lots will be displayed from April 21 to 28.
Among the items: revered works by world-renowned artists, including the famed oil painting “La Vie des Champs” by Paul Cézanne, its estimated value $1.2-$1.8 million. Also up for auction are still-life paintings by Henri Fantin-LaTour and works from Eugene Boudin and Pierre-Joseph Redoute.

Hamilton’s extensive decorative arts collection is filled with sailor’s valentines, Chinese exports, English and European porcelain, and American Arts and Crafts furniture. Jewelry buffs won’t want to miss the May 9 auction of pieces from a collection that includes an emerald-cut diamond and platinum ring with an estimated value of $600,000-$800,000.
