In her career as a fashion and photo stylist, Carrie Leskowitz honed her ability to get every last detail just right. Then the Fort Washington resident took a detour seven years ago into interior design. She’s created everything from elegant living rooms to interactive game rooms in homes along the Main Line. “I love the relationships I have with my clients,” says Leskowitz. “It’s great working with them to create spaces they’ll enjoy living in.”
Personal decorating style: Eclectic traditionalism with a dash of drama—but I welcome change.
Favorite room in her house: It’s a tie between my kitchen and my bedroom. If I could put the kitchen in the bedroom, I’d never leave!
Most prized possession: I can only choose one? It would have to be the Fortuny light fixture I got in Venice.
Designer who inspires her: Different ones inspire me for different reasons. I love Jamie Drake’s bold use of color, Miles Redd’s sense of drama and Barry Dixon’s refined elegance.
Design advice she loves to give: Don’t fear color; group objects together for greater impact, rather than having them scattered about.
Colors she couldn’t design without: Unapologetically, beige.
Design element she loves to incorporate into a space: Any organic material.
A room isn’t completely decorated until: Personal mementos, family photos and flowers are in place.
