Chefs Christine and Nick Kondra bring their years of travel and culinary experience to the Main Line at their just-opened cheese and charcuterie concept in Wayne. Propelled by their desire to create a culinary experience utilizing the chefs, farmers and artisanal purveyors they met during their extensive travels, Cornerstone Cheese & Charcuterie was born.
On the menu are expertly crafted seasonal and artisanal cheeses, smoked and cured meats, accoutrements and house-made sausages and patés that can be taken home for gatherings. There is also a seasonally-focused menu, featuring items like mac and cheese and various breakfast sandwiches.
The inviting atmosphere, which feature a 14-seat chef’s counter, welcomes guests to relax and stay a while. Cornerstone is a BYOB, so guests can bring their favorite craft beers or wines along. The Kondras are happy to make suggestions for the best pairing possibilities.
Also planned is a bi-monthly visiting chef series, where chefs will share their unique culinary points-of-view. First up on the schedule from Oct. 27–29 is Tim Bodell of Francis Ford Coppola’s winery, RUSTIC, based out of Geyersville, Calif. He will bring his northern California-style cuisine, utilizing local produce and seasonal ingredients to create a memorable multi-course meal that celebrates the bounty of both Sonoma County and the Philadelphia area. Attendance is limited to 14. Make reservations online or call the restaurant at (610) 688-1888.
