“b.good serves real food you can feel good about eating, even though it’s served fast,” said Deb Lutz, who loved the concept and the food so much that she left a 20+-year career in corporate America to bring b.good restaurants to Philadelphia, her hometown. The b.good concept was started in 2003 in Boston by two boyhood friends, Jon Olinto and Anthony Ackil. The first Philadelphia-area location, in Marlton, N.J., was opened by Lutz last summer.

Known for its fresh ingredients from local farmers and producers, b.good serves house-ground burgers and sandwiches, kale and quinoa bowls, homemade veggie burgers, fresh fruit and veggie smoothies, shakes and hand-cut fries. Many vegetarian and vegan options are available, and 95 percent of the menu is gluten-free. Highlights include sandwiches with your choice of protein or veggie burger, dressed as the Cousin Oliver, topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and home-made pickles, and the Adopted Luke, with mushrooms, caramelized onions, smoked Swiss and BBQ sauce. Nutrient-packed kale and quinoa bowls brim with organic quinoa, marinated kale, sautéed veggies, avocado, black beans, queso fresco, cilantro, chipotle sauce and more. Menu changes occur based on what’s in season locally.

In keeping with its fresh, local theme, area farmers and producers—including Spina & Sons in Salem, N.J.; Marolda Farm in Vineland, N.J.; Trickling Springs Creamery in Chambersburg, Pa.; Roseda Farm in Monkton, Md.; Wild Flour Bakery in Philadelphia; and 1732 Meats in Lansdowne, Pa.—will provide many of the ingredients found on the menu.

The dine-in/takeout restaurant, which will have 50 seats and employ 20 locals, will be located in the space formerly occupied by Qdoba in the Wynnewood Square Shopping Center at 280 East Lancaster Avenue in Wynnewood. Hours will be Monday–Saturday from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m.–8 p.m. Stay up-to-date on information regarding opening day by following along on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
