Sean Weinberg of Malvern favorite, Restaurant Alba, is on to his next venture. There have been rumors circulating for some time and we can now confirm that Biga Pizza + Beer, an artisan wood-fired pizza and craft beer restaurant, will be opening in early March at 810 Glenbrook Ave. in Bryn Mawr.
Weinberg is referring to Biga as Alba’s “grungy little sister restaurant” and notes that it will be casual with communal seating and an open kitchen. The menu isn’t fully developed yet, but expect wood-fired pizzas with interesting toppings, veggie small plates, handmade pasta and a serious craft beer list.
Alba sous chef alum Steve Fulmer will be overseeing Biga’s kitchen and brings some serious pizza cred with him. After his stint at Alba, Fulmer spent time making pizzas at Zavino in Center City and Roberta’s in Brooklyn.
Biga will also be open in the morning for coffee and sweet zeppole.
