Chuck Soldano Offers Interior Design Advice

You’ve seen him on The Apprentice: Martha Stewart and Bravo’s Bethenny Getting Married? Here, he talks shop at home.

Chuck Soldano in his Wynnewood home.After 22 years in Philadelphia, interior designer Chuck Soldano made his move to the Main Line without regret. “There are no other suburbs in the country like here,” says Soldano, who’s now in Wynnewood. “The architecture is amazing. At every turn, it’s beautiful.”

Most of his clients are from the burbs, too. “Main Liners want a fresh take on traditional design,” says Soldano, who was once a contestant on The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, and recently appeared with his pal, Bethenny Frankel, on Bravo’s Bethenny Getting Married? “Every client is unique, which makes my job a lot of fun.”

Personal decorating style: “The rule of thumb in my home is to let color be the common thread. A color scheme has the power to bridge many design styles.”

Favorite room in his house: “It’s a tie. My living room is filled with great artwork, a large cocktail table loaded with magazines, plus cherished framed photos and an extra-deep sofa. It’s the perfect room to relax or entertain. My studio is where I go to escape. In essence, it’s my creativity laboratory.”

Best design advice: “Always trust the decorator.”

Design elements he likes to bring into a space: “I love to give a room history with artwork and books.”

Favorite design trend of the moment: “I’m loving all reclaimed wood furniture and a driftwood-gray palette.”

Favorite rooms to design: “Today, my favorite room to design is a kitchen. Tomorrow, it might be bedrooms.”
