Soak up the sun and paddle your way down the Brandywine River toward a mouthwatering barbecue and lively barn dance during the Brandywine Conservancy and Museum of Art’s 26th annual Tip-a-Canoe and BBQ, Too. The ticketed rain or shine event will take place July 13 from 12-10 p.m.
“This annual event ties together so many great aspects of our organization,” says Kaitlin LeRoy, membership manager and event organizer at the Brandywine Conservancy. “The day highlights the unique beauty of this region—including the breathtaking landscapes and vistas that have been protected by the Brandywine Conservancy and have served as inspiration to many of the artists whose works are featured in the Brandywine River Museum of Art.”
As the name suggests, attendees will canoe down the river from Frolic Weymouth’s Big Bend estate and be rewarded with a wood-fired Southern barbecue-themed feast from Fat Ricks. Local brews and wines will also be available, as will ice cream from the Woodside Creamery ice cream truck. From 6-10 p.m. Crazy in Stereo will perform barn dance-friendly tunes.
Tickets range from $50-$110.
