cBOP Opens in Haverford

The children’s boutique features clothing, shoes, toys and accessories.

Earlier this month, new infant-to-toddler clothing boutique, cBOP, opened in Haverford. The store—and its name—were inspired by owners Peter and Patti Berman’s son, Cole.

“It’s a goofy thing,” Berman says of the name. He and his wife used to “bop” around the house with their dog and baby boy, during which time they created a song called the “cBOP.” “It gives us good memories, my wife and I, so when we had the opportunity to name a business, it was a natural,” adds Berman. In addition to paying homage to the song, cBOP also stands for “Charming, beautiful, original and perfect,” says Berman.

The Bermans partnered with Govberg Jewelers owners, Danny and Ashley Govberg, to bring the business to life. Ashley even helped design the space. The retail store is just the beginning for cBOP, though, which has plans to launch online retail in the future. At present, cBOP has a selection of clothing, shoes, toys and accessories for infants and toddlers, as well as sit-and-fit shoe trials and custom monogramming.

The store also has a play space, which will feature Music Monkey Jungle, a weekly interactive music class. They also are planning to host yoga and other events geared towards keeping kids and their parents active.

cBOP’s items are age appropriate and include high-end brands like Stella McCartney and Chloe, along with every day wear. “I think [cBOP] is like the Main Line—it keeps traditional values but has a really contemporary and updated point of view,” Berman says.
