During the local run of the highly anticipated movie, they’ll be serving up complimentary Cosmopolitans for the ladies, and a “Mr. Big” shot or cocktail for the guys—with ticket stubs. … If you are heading into town to catch a little culture on June 18, you might want to make a stop at Academy Café in the Doubletree Hotel. From 6-8 p.m., the restaurant will host an Australian Wine Dinner ($45 per person includes food, wines, tax and gratuity), featuring wines from Angove’s Winery in Australia, which received “Winery of the Year” from Peter Forrestal of Quaff for 2008, and a four-course menu from executive chef Neal Drinkwine (crazy coincidence, we know). Play “The Aroma Wheel of Fortune,” and get a jump on your wine knowledge with a discussion led by Cherie Vallance-Tucker, premium wine manager of Trinchero Family Estates.
