Niche just released its list of the best places to live in America, and towns in the Main Line region feature prominently on it.

The Main Line region has done it again. On its recently released list of the best places to live in America, Niche ranked the area’s towns as some of the top places to call home not just in the state, but in the entire United States. Of course, it’s hardly a surprise, right? With incredible dining, education and shopping at our fingertips, there are endless possibilities when it comes to things to do.

To determine the rankings, Niche looks at a variety of factors including higher education, cost of living, housing, public schools, diversity, crime and safety, family, jobs and more. Without further ado, here are the top-ranking towns in the region:

#1 – Chesterbrook

Coming in at number one in the entire country is Chesterbrook. As its name suggests, Chesterbrook is a census-designated place located in Chester County. It earns an overall A+ rating from Niche for its excellent public school options and attractiveness for families. In terms of things to do, Chesterbrook is close to Valley Forge National Park, a top spot for hiking and biking in the region.

#3 – Ardmore

Not far behind Chesterbrook is Ardmore. Ranking third on Niche’s list, the Main Line town is a hotspot in the area, and for good reason. The locale is home to top to-dos like the Ardmore Music Hall and the Ardmore Farmers Market, not to mention community favorites Char & Stave and Twenty One Pips. Foodies have it particularly good here.

#5 – Penn Wynne

Technically part of Lower Merion Township, Penn Wynne is a census-designated place and another top spot on Niche’s best places to live list. While this area is largely residential, it’s ideal for anyone who wants to settle down in a neighborhood that’s close to an abundance of attractions both around the Main Line and heading into Philadelphia.

#9 – Devon

This Main Line suburb is a prime location to call home (and Niche thinks so too, ranking it ninth on its best places to live report). Not only is it home to The Devon Horse Show & Country Fair, but it’s also a delight for dining, thanks to fan-favorite eateries like Terrain Café.

#30 – Swarthmore

While not technically on the Main Line, Swarthmore sits nearby and is home to Swarthmore College, one of the main higher education institutions in our region. During a visit to town, check out the college’s Scott Arboretum or wander through Crum Woods for a chance to reconnect with nature.

#70 – Exton

Beer lovers in the Main Line region have it so good in Exton. Stolen Sun Craft Brewing and Roasting Company and VK Brewery Co. & Eatery both call the area home, which means it’s easy to pop back and forth between the two. As for dining, head to Kumamon Ramen for savory, slurpable noodles galore.

#72 – Berwyn

In Chester County, Berwyn charms visitors and residents with its horse farms and riding academies, not to mention its abundance of greenery. Dining is easy and abundant here, with options ranging from pan-Asian at Veekoo to cozy comfort fare at La Cabra Brewing.

#73 – Narberth

Rounding out the Main Line region towns in the top 75 of Niche’s list is Narberth. The Montgomery County destination boasts a number of things to do and places to eat (Ryan Christopher’s BYOB, anyone?), as well as a train stop that provides easy access into Philly.
