It’s refreshingly different from any other store in Paoli—and that was exactly Molly Bonner’s intention.
“I wanted to encourage a gentler time through this store,” says the owner of Trove General Store. “It’s reminiscent of an old-time general store, where people can come into a friendly environment and enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee.”
And, of course, shop.
Along with her daughter, Charlotte, and family friend Foster Zeh, Bonner launched Trove in November. With its reclaimed hardwood floors, exposed wood beams and industrial shelving, the space has a rustic-chic appeal. The “American heritage lifestyle” brands featured at Trove are not unlike what you’d find in similar stores in the mountain towns of Vermont and North Carolina. Women’s selections include Blank NYC jeans and cords, and colorful puffer coats from Millet. For the men, there are button-down shirts from the Reading-based Bill’s Khakis, and leather outerwear and boots from Belstaff.
Apothecary options include Baxter of California (for the guys), Farmaesthetics (for the ladies), along with jewelry, coffee-table books and more. This spring and summer, look for “Learning How to Fly-Fish” workshops and other events open to the public.
