Skylar Volz Embraces a Feminine Chic Style in West Chester

Skylar Volz, a luxury manager at The RealReal, shares her fashion tips and favorite places to shop around the Main Line.

Her Style: Feminine chic. I love to embrace my girly side with bows and ruffles, while still finding ways to incorporate trends and sophisticated, structured silhouettes.

Her Fashion Roots: I’ve been excited about fashion ever since I found my mom’s sparkly pink thong heels from the early 2000s. I always managed to put an outfit together that felt fabulous, even when they were my cousins’ hand-me-downs. It helped me see the beauty in giving pre-loved pieces the extended life they deserve. Today, I’m a luxury manager for the RealReal and love working in the fashion resale industry.

Indispensable Wardrobe Item: An oversized jean or leather jacket.

Favorite Place to Shop: Van Cleve Bridal & Evening Wear and Main Line Fashionista, both in Paoli. Also, Malena’s Vintage Boutique and Jawn Supply in West Chester, where I live.

Fashion Icon: Sarah Jessica Parker. I loved how Patricia Field styled her character in Sex and the City. I relate to her love of shoes, bows, vintage and flower accessories.

Best Buy Ever: A pink velvet Gucci Marmont matelassé shoulder bag from the RealReal.

Thoughts on Aging: It’s positive. I’m excited to see where life takes me and how my style will evolve in the future. I hope that, as I age, I’m able to experience more of the beauty this life has to offer.

Indispensable Accessory: A fabulous pair of gold hoop earrings. Whether I’m dressing for a dinner out or running errands, I wear them with my gold rings and bracelets. I feel put together when I wear them.

Beauty Tip Every Woman Can Appreciate: A heated eyelash curler changed my life. After applying mascara, I heat-curl my lashes—and they stay that way the entire day.

Fashion No-No: Capri pants. I hope they never come back.

Why Fashion Matters: Fashion is an art form that celebrates life. In this world, things are constantly changing. Fashion gives us an opportunity to not only represent ourselves but represent things around us that inspire our lives. I’m a true believer in the “look good, feel good” mentality. When you dress to feel amazing, that energy radiates and is contagious to people around you.
