Mane Techniques Revolutionizes Hair Artistry in Wayne

The Wayne hair salon takes an artistic approach to everything from blowouts and hair extensions to scalp treatments and styling.

Before jointly opening their own salon in the town of Wayne, Cara Catagnus and Mary Tomassetti hit the road. Where they would end up they did not know, but what they were searching for was certain. Knowledge would be their quest as the duo aimed to scour the country for all that they could learn before embarking on their true great adventure: Mane Techniques.

Having pinpointed a gap in the Main Line area’s beauty scene, Catagnus and Tomassetti opened Mane Techniques to fill the hole presented by a lack of quality hair extensions in the region. Today, many permanent extensions damage follicular integrity. However, Tomassetti and Catagnus use the most up-to-date techniques and technologies in the industry to serve their clients while eliminating some of the negative side effects that can come with extensions.

While scouring the country for knowledge on hand-tied extensions, the duo found a small yet dedicated provider in Idaho and booked a trip to take her class. The took inspiration from a hair practitioner 2,500 miles away and applied the methods they discovered there to preserve hair integrity.

When Mane Techniques opened, Catagnus and Tomassetti brought these new processes to a community that had yet to experience these comparatively foreign practices.

“[Catagnus] and I were the first stylists to bring hand-tied hair extensions to the East Coast,” Tomassetti explains.

The hand-tied extensions at Mane Techniques are installed without any heat, glue or chemicals and ultimately blend with the hair to create the most natural-looking length, all without any damage to the hair or scalp. Furthermore, Mane Techniques takes pride in what it refers to as hair artistry.

“There are so many artistic aspects that go into it. Instead of just a hair salon, it’s a skill and ability,” Tomassetti notes.

The stylists at Mane Techniques take pride in their craft, working toward a stunning end result while focusing on hair integrity and building a community in the process.

“Collaboration in currency,” Tomassetti calls it.

It’s a phrase that has resonated equally with both founders. The owners have made a consistent effort to get involved with other businesses in Wayne and maintain client relations.

Tomassetti is thankful to work with an amazing team to achieve clients’ hair dreams. “The fulfillment you can get from helping other people and doing things together, I love the teamwork that we have,” she notes. She’s thankful day in and out to be working with the team she and Catagnus have built.

The full-service salon offers a wide range of hair services, including scalp treatments, blowouts and hair styling, hair color and specialty extensions.

The stylists at Mane Techniques are inspired by their education and continue to evolve their services and techniques with the most cutting-edge knowledge in the market. They hope to add a bridal menu to their services in the future as well.
