Main Line fashion and lifestyle blogger Lindsey Schuster struck success with her popular platform, The Motherchic, which she launched in 2011. There, she offers advice on everything from beauty to fashion, and has gained a large—she has over 90,000 followers on Instagram and over 400,000 followers on Facebook—and loyal following. That success has propelled her into a new arena: clothing designer. Schuster recently partnered with Los Angeles, Calif. clothing company Gibson to create a 10-piece collection, which will be available online at Nordstrom starting May 9.
“What’s special about my position is that I listen to women all day through their comments and messages and I get to learn what people really like,” says Schuster. “That’s why I think this line is so special because I feel like it will resonate with so much of my audience.”

Wanting to contribute the women’s wear world, Schuster reached out to Gibson last year about a potential collaboration, to which they responded positively. Schuster and her team sketched ideas for the line, with the help of her sister, who has a background in fashion design, working with Gibson to perfect the details.
The line focuses on chic everyday pieces for spring, like easy-to-wear dresses in both bright and muted colors. Schuster has collaborated with other major brands before, including J. Crew, Lululemon and Sephora.
A mother of four boys, Schuster worked as an elementary school teacher in the West Chester School District before deciding to stay at home fulltime. She began her blog as a creative outlet, but it’s since morphed considerably.
Schuster began blogging about her experience as a mother and the ups and downs that come along with raising a family. “That was actually a really hard time in the blog’s life because I was stretched too thin,” Schuster admits. “I was trying to do this hobby and I wasn’t admitting to myself that it was actually something I was so passionate about while also trying to be a mom at the same time.” She later decided to take her blog in a different direction and The Motherchic was born.
Years later, it seems fitting that her latest iteration is a clothing line. Gibson x The Motherchic will launch May 9 on Nordstrom.com.
