“My clients are Lady M,” says Hillary Jean White. “They’re amazing, powerful, strong women.”
Lady Millionaire was the original name of White’s new boutique. “But it’s not about the money. It’s about how you think, how you carry yourself and how you treat people,” she says. Once the owner of several Manhattan hair salons and one in Greenville, Del., White is an entrepreneur at heart. Lady M is filled with luxury brands and one-of-a-kind pieces.
HER BACKGROUND: My family immigrated to Connecticut from Haiti when I was 14. I went to Connecticut Hair Academy, then moved to New York. I got a job in a salon, then worked my way up to owning my own salons.
HER STYLE: Classic and conservative, functional and tailored. Simplicity can be chic. But sometimes, you need a piece of Dolce & Gabbana.
BEST PIECE OF FASHION ADVICE: If you love it, wear it. If it makes you feel fabulous, buy it. Style is self-expression. No one else can tell you how to do that.
THE IDEAL LADY M: A woman who loves style, travel and living life to the fullest.
