A turn-of-the-century antique sofa outfitted in a hot-pink fabric is a focal point of Chairloom’s new showroom in Ardmore. It’s a perfect example of what owner Molly Andrews excels at: reinventing old pieces of furniture with a hip, fresh look.
Granted, Chairloom’s online portfolio of before-and-after shots is impressive. But after five years of relying on the Web to spread the news about her business, Andrews has taken the plunge, opening a showroom for both finished and unfinished pieces—all of them for sale—and fabric consultations.
Andrews carries a variety of modern and traditional fabric lines, including Victoria Larson, Hable Construction, Proud Mary, Mod Green Pod, Rubie Green and Michael Devine. “None of these is available at [Philadelphia’s] Design Center,” says Andrews, who prefers smaller manufacturers.
And while chairs and sofas are the bread and butter of her business, Andrews also specializes in pillows, headboards and window treatments to beautify your abode.
