Black Friday Bonanza

Shop Talk editor Tara Behan hunts down not-to-be-missed deals.

As I write this blog, Johnny Mathis is belting out why it’s the most wonderful time of the year on B101. Yes, ready or not, the holiday season is upon us, and that means it’s time to start shopping, shopping, shopping.

Many of our local retailers are getting in the spirit by offering not-to-be-missed Black Friday specials. So get your to-buy-for lists ready, and head out Friday bright and early. (I have a pretty significant list of things I’m buying for myself started!)

Happy Thanksgiving to all, and Happy Shopping!

The early bird does get the sales on Black Friday at Media’s Per Lei Boutique. From 5 to 9 a.m., everything in the store is 40 percent off. Now that’s a sale worth missing a couple of hours of sleep for. If you miss the early-bird sales, however, you don’t entirely miss out—the store reopens at 10 a.m., and everything remains 20 percent off for the rest of the day. 2 E. At State of Grace in Bryn Mawr, you choose what’s on sale. Shoppers can pick one item for 40 percent off and receive 20 percent off the rest of their purchases. Oh, did I love reading about Heavenly Couture, the latest Main Line boutique to open. Founded by four enterprising sisters ages 14-24, it opened its doors last Saturday. The Brufke sisters of Valley Forge discovered Heavenly Couture this summer when visiting Newport Beach, Calif. The boutique is unique in that everything—jeans, hoodies, dresses, leggings, hats, scarves, jackets and more—is available at the unbelievable price of $17.95 and less. With prices like this, be prepared to leave the store with more than one bag! And to celebrate the opening, the sisters are giving away 100 cotton camisoles to the first shoppers on Black Friday. Paoli Shopping Center, Lower Level, 33 Leopard Road, Paoli.
