August Restaurant Openings and Closings

Beach-goers and frequenters of King of Prussia Mall have plenty to be excited about.

>> HARD TO SAY GOOD-BYE: After nine years, Susanna Foo (above right) closed the doors of her Radnor location to focus on a new project, SuGa, with her son, Gabriel. It opens this fall in Philadelphia.

And Margaret Kuo (above left) was forced to shutter her Granite Run Mall location, open since 1974. The mall will undergo demolition late this summer.

>> SHORE EXPANSION: The Dave Magrogan Group will open its 18th restaurant and fifth Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House in Sea Isle City, N.J. Set for a summer 2016 debut, it will be located in The Dunes, a new facility that will also include a wedding-and-banquet venue run by DMG.

>> NEW IN TOWN: In late June, the Plaza at the King of Prussia Mall welcomed Pennsylvania’s Grand Lux Cafe, an upscale sister restaurant to the Cheesecake Factory. You’ll find a globally inspired menu, a sharp cocktail list, and elaborate desserts. Local, healthy fast-food chain Bryn & Dane’s has expanded to Plymouth Meeting, adding to its locations in Horsham and Ambler. Menu options range from wraps and salads to quesadillas and a variety of chicken strips.
