Photo by Jared CastaldiShore escape: Somers Point (throughout the year). “Somers Point reminds my husband (Dr. Kirk Brandow) of Lake George, which is where he grew up. He liked it so much he decided to open a second location of his cosmetic surgery practice here.”

Shopping: “I always head over to the shops on Asbury Avenue in Ocean City. I have too many favorites to name.” • “The wine selection at Circle Liquor (1 MacArthur Circle, Somers Point, 609-927-2921) can’t be beat.” • “Hot Bagels & More (609 New Road, Somers Point, 609-926-4144, hotbagelsandmore.net) has the closest thing to New York bagels I’ve ever tasted.” • “I always make it a point to stop at Waldor Orchids (10 E. Poplar Ave., Linwood, 609-927-4126, waldor.com). It’s the largest distributor of orchids on the East Coast.”

Eats: “New this season is Bay Avenue Sushi (718 Bay Ave., Somers Point; 609-601-8822, bayavesushi.com). It’s BYO and off-the-charts good.” • “I love ordering the half-red, half-white chowder at Smitty’s Clam Bar (910 Bay Ave., Somers Point, 609-927-8783). Everything on the menu is outrageously delicious.” • “The Anchorage (823 Bay Ave., Somers Point, 609-926-1794) is another historic Shore restaurant we love.” • “Emilio’s (12 E. Maryland Ave., Somers Point; 609-927-7343, emiliospizzanj.com) is a fantastic Italian BYO. The gnocchi in Alfredo sauce is excellent.”

Family time: “There’s a bike path that goes from Somers Point to Atlantic City that we ride often. Every Friday night in summer, there’s a concert on the beach, so we always try to make it when we can.” • “Nights in Venice is also a fun night we look forward to every summer.”
