When it comes to the art of the tea party, Moroccans have perfected the flavor, style and presentation. Get a taste of this authentic tradition at at a tea party hosted by chef Siada Davis, owner of Marokko Restaurant, and Pat Nogar of Living Well with Pat Nogar, on Sept. 8 from 3 to 5 p.m. The tea party also kicks off a series of food events hosted by Nogar.
“Marokko is the ideal place to kick off my food experience series,” says Nogar. “The menu is incredible and chef Saida has created the premier atmosphere.” As a special treat, Nogar will be pouring complimentary Moroccan wine to guests.
“Tea has always been a huge part of my life and Moroccan culture,” adds Davis. “I am excited to share a bit of history, the Moroccan tea traditions, and of course the delicious food and drink through this new series of events.”
The ticketed event will highlight the culture of Morocco with pours of green mint tea and a menu of both savory—think assorted sandwiches with lamb, beef and olive lemon confit—and sweet—traditional pancake-like msemen and baghrir, dark and white pastry fans and assorted gourmet cookies are on the menu—Moroccan delicacies from Marokko’s kitchen.
The engaging decor of lanterns, tapestries, artwork, candles and vibrant tasseled silk pillows set the tone.
Monthly tea parties will also take place on Oct. 6 with two seatings (reservations required) and evolving menus.
