Those already looking forward to shopping at Ardmore’s Clover Market are in luck: Founder/organizer Janet Long has added a one-day winter teaser to the mix. On Jan. 27, the Clover moves indoors to the historic 23rd Street Armory in Philadelphia. Space will allow only about half the number of vendors featured at the outdoor market, but Long assures us that quality won’t be compromised.
About 50 vendors will offer upcycled items and architectural salvage, vintage clothing and jewelry, original art and photography, handmade jewelry, antique and collectible furniture, accessories, textiles, and more. “It’s a great way to get everyone out of the house to beat those midwinter blues,” says Long. Sensing an obvious need for an upscale outdoor market on the Main Line, Long founded Clover back in 2009, choosing the Ardmore business district for its convenience and proximity to the R5 Line. Modeling itself after successful ventures like the Brooklyn Flea market, Clover’s fall and spring operations have more than doubled in size. They now include a food court and live entertainment.
