Ann Kolenick never truly understood what it meant to learn from your mistakes until she owned a restaurant. “I’ve definitely learned,” she says. “The key is not to repeat the mistakes. Some things have worked out, and some haven’t, but you have to put yourself out there and try.”
It’s been six years since Kolenick returned to her native Delaware County, after spending five years owning a restaurant in North Carolina. “We bought the Gables, and we moved back home,” she says. “We’ve come a long way in six years.”
After a few growing pains in the beginning, Kolenick finally feels like she’s hit her stride with the restaurant. “We have a really good team, and everyone works well together,” she says.
