Shortly after college graduation, Malvern’s Allie Mongan and West Chester’s Dan Sweeney were introduced by mutual friends. Several years later, Dan popped the question in Avalon, N.J. Awaiting the newly engaged couple on the beach was Allie’s family, champagne in hand. Later that night, Dan’s family hosted an engagement party.
They opted for a wedding in the fall, Allie’s favorite season. “Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, so we had a couple of nods, like pumpkins and candles,” she says.

The foliage was at its peak on the day they exchanged vows in front of friends, family and nearly 100 of Allie’s former students at St. Patrick School in Malvern.
