Recharge your winter batteries with a little help from local chef Alex Garfinkel of AG Catering. The classically French-trained Garfinkel, who has flexed his culinary chops throughout notable Philly kitchens like Le Bec Fin, Lacroix, Morimoto and Amada, is taking over Media’s Pinocchio’s Beer Garden for one-night-only.
Alex, together with the beer-savvy team at Pinocchio’s, will unveil an innovative Winter Beer Dinner on Tues., March 4, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The six-course, beer-drenched affair promises to be unlike anything the DelCo hub has presented before, offering pairings rooted in the spirit of comfort; expect fresh, late-winter flavors spotlighted alongside the bold, brilliant offerings of Canada’s Minus8 Vinegar.
Curious what’s on the self-proclaimed flavor technician’s menu? Teases of the collaborative pairings revealed below:
â— Roasted goat cheese crostinis layered with marinated roasted red peppers and 16-year-old Minus8 vinegar; paired with Free Will Brewing Company’s Alexander
â— Asparagus salad with oven-roasted tomato and shallot vinaigrette, Parmesan emulsion, crispy speck; paired with Brasserie Dupont’s Avec les bons Vœux
â— Shrimp veloute; paired with Brasserie d’Orval SA’s Orval
â— Crispy leg of lamb nuggets with turmeric yogurt; paired with Brasserie d’Orval SA’s Port Barrel Aged Scotch Silly
â— Locally-sourced chicken breasts wrapped in leeks, pumped with raisins and herbs, and sided with carrot puree, glazed parsnips, crispy chicken cracklings; paired with Bell’s Brewery’s Hopslam

Cost is $70 per person. Secure your reservations by calling (610) 566–7767 (ask for the Beer Garden!) or by emailing email@example.com.
