A New Book Celebrates the Chester County Countryside

Jim Graham’s Bound to the Country is available for pre-order.

Jim Graham’s gorgeous photography affords us a superior and sympathetic lens through which to view the Brandywine Valley’s beautiful countryside, rich history and vibrant cultural offerings. As the lead photographer and contributing editor for Main Line Today sister publication The Hunt, Graham has never met an assignment he didn’t love—and it shows in his work.

There’s no doubt about Graham’s affection for the region’s rich equestrian tradition. For 30 years, he’s followed Mr. Stewart’s Cheshire Foxhounds as they explore the southern Chester County countryside. Graham’s new book, Bound to the Country (Cheshire Editions, 196 pages), celebrates everything that makes this treasured parcel near Unionville so special. Thanks to the ongoing efforts of the Brandywine Conservancy, the Masters of the Cheshire Hunt and individual landowners, it remains much as it was over 100 years ago—the way Plunket Stewart saw it when he first looked over the vast expanse of valley in 1910.
