A Main Line Fashion Blogger Reveals What’s In and What’s Out This Season

Ardmore fashionista touts her style icons.

Shana Draugelis, Ardmore, founder of The Mom Edit fashion blog

What she loves most about her blog: We try really hard to keep it real. The focus is on cool, everyday style—we’re much more casual than most other blogs. We try to walk that fine line between being practical and staying current with trends.

Favorite designers: I drool over anything Derek Lam, but I also love Milly dresses, Rebecca Minkoff bags, Stuart Weitzman shoes (he does sexy, yet comfortable like no other), and Rag & Bone denim.

Summer trends: I’m all over flares this summer—especially in white. White flare jeans feel really fresh and modern.

Style icons: Jane Birkin, Emmanuelle Alt and Kate Moss.

Personal style: Rock ’n’ roll meets gamine.

Favorite designers: Alice + Olivia, Helmut Lang, Valentino, Coco Chanel.

Go-to casual outfit for a Saturday out: I either dress up a T-shirt and shorts with glam sunnies, bright lipstick and complicated (yet flat) shoes, or I dress down a fancy dress by wearing it with flats.

Go-to outfit for a Saturday night in the city: A short little strapless dress that shows a ton of leg, sexy flats or low heels, and an unexpected accessory.

Splurges: Shoes, sunglasses, denim and cashmere. Shoes must be both comfortable and beautiful, sunglasses have to be polarized (once you try it, you’ll never go back), denim must fit properly. Cashmere drapes beautifully, is machine washable, and lasts.

Favorite thing in her closet: A red, backless maxi dress that used to be my mom’s. It’s still a stunner 35 years later—and so is she.

Dream items: I’ve always wanted a Chanel cropped tweed jacket to dress up my T-shirts and ripped jeans. But it always comes down to the jacket
versus a fun little vacation—and I really love to travel. My latest obsession is Stuart Weitzman’s Backview sandal—the sexiest sandals I’ve ever seen, and they’re flat.
