5 Ways to Celebrate the Kentucky Derby on the Main Line

From sipping mint juleps to donning fabulous hats, it’s just like being at Churchill Downs.

On your mark. Get set. Sip! The Race for the Roses, taking place May 6, is rich in tradition on and off the track. Aside from being the most suspenseful two minutes in sporting history, the Kentucky Derby celebrates southern culture and couture: lavish hats, bold bowties and lots of juleps. Before the bourbon melts the ice, the race is over, but the party carries on. And you don’t have to travel to Kentucky to partake in the festivities.
