West Chester’s Boxcar Brewpub has a full agenda of delicious fun on tap for October. Dig into the new menu from chef Andrew Cini, take advantage of happy hour specials and fill up your calendar with unique events. Oh, and grab a taste of some stellar beers, too.
Happy Hour
Eat, drink and relax Monday through Friday from 5–7 p.m. at the bar. Enjoy $4 drafts, $2 off glasses of local Pennsylvania wines, and $5 appetizers.
New Chef, New Menu
Chef Andrew Cini has recently come on board at Boxcar and has brought along his passion for using local foods to create simple, flavorful dishes. “October is here, and with that comes our fall menu. We are excited to introduce some wonderful new dishes. Brats braised in our very own Oktoberfest brew and our newest sandwich, an open-faced country ham melt, will be featured for the remainder of the season,” he says. Other items on the new menu include shrimp and grits and chicken and waffles.
Ride the Rails
Boxcar’s semi-annual event, Ride the Rails, is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, from 5–9 p.m. Take a nostalgic train ride aboard a 1930s-style passenger car with West Chester Railroad, meandering through picturesque Chester County and stopping in Glen Mills’ picnic park. There will be plenty of food, beer and live entertainment. Bring along blankets or chairs to relax at the park. Halloween costumes are encouraged. Tickets are $45 per person.
Mischief Night
Head over to Boxcar on Oct. 30 at 6:30 p.m. for a mischief-filled live show featuring Broadway music presented by the Resident Theater Company. The show features professional performers from New York and Philadelphia as well as Maria Eberline, star of “Wicked.” The after-party starts at 9 p.m. with a cash bar. Tickets are $35 per person or $20 for standing room.
Weekly—and Sometimes Daily—Events
Watch the Eagles on Boxcar’s 120-inch big screen TV during all games; play Quizzo on Tuesdays at 7 p.m.; and take in local talent on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. during open mic night. There will be live music several nights per week, as well. For more fun fall activities, check out the brewpub’s full calendar of events.
