The Main Line is full of trails for walkers, dogs, bikes, roller blades and everything in-between, but it is also close to some of the best mountain biking in Pennsylvania. Whether you’re getting on a bike for the first time or seeking thrills on winding dirt paths through the woods, there are plenty of options.
Boxers’ Trail
Tucked between Strawberry Mansion and the Schuylkill River, Boxers’ Trail is famous for being the training place of Joe Frazier. There are 3.8 miles through woods and hills, plus beautiful scenery of the Schuylkill.

Pennypack Trail
Montgomery County’s 14.4-mile trail is a combination of asphalt and dirt. Bike along Pennypack Creek and be challenged by rolling hills perfect for the experienced mountain biker. Or, follow along the paved portions for a smoother, more relaxing ride.

Chapel Trail
This trail alternates through woods and open fields, providing some difficult and smooth breaks. There is even a paved path to return you to your car.
Varnum’s Picnic Area at Valley Forge, 1400 N. Outer Line Drive, King of Prussia.
Betzwood Trail
Wind through the woods of Valley Forge along the northeast side of the river. There aren’t too many hills, but a few logs, making this trail ideal for beginner or intermediate mountain bikers.

Bear Creek Mountain
With over 10 trails to choose from, Bear Creek is worth the drive for mountain biking enthusiasts. Trail one is the main trail, featuring 5.1-miles of loops, twists and turns, and rocky areas marked by signs. There are also multiple bridges and scenic woods surrounding the trails, and three options for expert level mountain biking
