The Main Line and surrounds have a healthy contingent of small businesses and mom-and-pop shops, but they also have a big national presence. Five business were recognized this week by Fortune magazine, which released its 64th annual Fortune 500 list, ranking the United States’ largest businesses by total revenue. To make this year’s list, companies must have made at least $5.4 billion in revenue in the 2017 fiscal year. Here are the local business that made this year’s list.
#480 Toll Brothers
The Horsham-based home construction company, which employs 4,500 individuals, reported $5.8 billion in revenue, with $535 million in profits. Its 480 ranking marks a jump from last year’s ranking at 497. This is the company’s sixth year on the Fortune 500 list.
#457 UGI
King of Prussia-headquartered UGI maintained their 2017 rank of 457 this year after reporting a $6.1 billion revenue and profit of $436 million. This is the 14th year the natural gas and electric utility company, who employees 13,000 people, has made the list.

#268 Universal Health Services
Another King of Prussia-based company, Universal Health Services came in at number 268 this year, rising 12 spots. UHS, which employs 72,300 people, reported $11.27 billion in revenue and $750 million in profit. The healthcare facility management company has made the Fortune 500 list 15 times.
#205 Lincoln National
Radnor-based Lincoln National came in at number 205 this year, rising two spots from its 2017 ranking. The holding company, which operates insurance and investment management businesses, raked in $14.2 billion in revenue and $2 billion in profit. This is the 24th year the 9,000-employee company has made the list.
Located in Chesterbook, AmerisourceBergen cracked the top 20 once again this year, coming in at number 12. The drug wholesale company, who has made the list 24 times, made more than $153 billion in revenue last year, with $364 million in profit. The company employs more than 19,000 people.
