>> NO PLACE LIKE HOME: Take a weekend off from shopping, and revel in the grandeur of holiday décor during these local house tours. On Dec. 5, there are two opportunities to soak up some festive inspiration for your own house. West Chester Public Library presents its fifth annual Holiday Home Tour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This walking tour features 10 homes in the borough, plus a rare showing of Tanglewood, the home of West Chester University’s president.
Next up, Chadds Ford Historical Society is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its annual Candlelight Christmas Tour. From 1 to 6 p.m., guests can see some of the Brandywine Valley’s most treasured historic homes and sites, all basking in a candlelit glow. Proceeds benefit the society’s educational programs for local schools and the community.
Then, reserve Dec. 6 for the Haverford Township Historical Society Holiday House Tour, which includes a number of the township’s most historic homes. It starts at 1 p.m.
