2 Tasting Menus You Can’t Miss This Week

From Conshohocken to Chestnut Hill.

Consider this the week of inventive tasting menus. Two local BYOBs, Conshohocken’s Blackfish and Chestnut Hill’s Heirloom, are gearing up to help you beat the winter chills through whimsically-themed meals.

Chef Chip Roman and his esteemed team at Blackfish are dreaming of summer as they offer a three-day lobster tasting this week, unfolding Jan. 6–8. The four-course tasting is available for $45 per person, bursting with crustacean-speckled dishes like sea urchin custard accented with green apple and horseradish, agnolotti with cauliflower, preserved lemon and black truffle, lobster tail with kaffir lime and navel orange, and a sweet ending of black currant- and peanut brittle-peppered chocolate ganache with minted meringue. Can’t make it this week? Beginning Jan. 13, the chef will jump-start a new prix fixe that’ll throw sea trout in the spotlight. Reservations may be made online or by calling (610) 397-0888. 119 Fayette St., Conshohocken, www.blackfishrestaurant.com

For just $24.95 (plus tax and gratuity), explore his classic interpretations of seafood gumbo, boudin-stuffed quail with fig sauce and buttered beans, and one triumphant rendition of bananas Foster.
