It’s the most wonderful time of the year, unless you find yourself in the kitchen cooking for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or Hannukah. Here’s the good news—many area restaurants and markets will do the job for you.

The Main Line Italian favorite is open on Christmas Eve serving a special à la carte menu including dishes like lobster ravioli, spaghetti carbonara, chicken rustico and osso bucco.

Appetites on Main

Exton’s favorite casual eatery will be open regular hours (11 a.m.–2 a.m.) on Christmas Eve, with a limited food menu after 8 p.m. On Christmas Day, Appetites will open from 8 p.m.–2 a.m. also with a limited menu. Killer craft beer and cocktails will keep the Christmas spirit going all night long.

Avalon

Head to Avalon on Christmas Eve for its Feast of the Seven Fishes. The special menu ($49 per person) includes five courses consisting of seven fishes. An à la carte menu is also available. 116 E. Gay St., (610) 436-4100, West Chester, www.avalonrestaurant.net.

Concordville Inn

Join Santa for a Christmas Eve dinner buffet from 3–8 p.m. in the Gold Ballroom. The buffet includes soups, salads, cheeses and entrees like seafood Newburg, crab cakes, chicken Marsala, roasted turkey and prime rib. The Christmas Eve buffet is $37.95 per person, $18.95 for children ages 3–12. A Christmas Eve à la carte dinner menu will also be available.

The Feast of Seven Fishes is a time-honored Italian Christmas Eve tradition, and Davio’s is celebrating with a prix fixe four-course menu, available from 5–11 p.m. The regular dinner menu is also available.

Di Bruno Bros. Catering

Enjoy Christmas in the comfort of your own home and leave the prep work to the professionals. Di Bruno Bros. Catering is offering holiday meals that serve six but can be scaled up depending on your guest list. Choose from honey glazed ham, cedar plank salmon, oven roasted turkey, salt-roasted prime rib or beef tenderloin as your main course. An à la carte menu is also available. Orders must be placed by December 21 for pickup on December 23 or 24.

The Gables at Chadds Ford is offering an à la carte menu on Christmas Eve, featuring dishes like shrimp and grits, jumbo lump crab cake, Frenched chicken breast and a 12-ounce certified Angus beef strip steak. Starters include mushroom soup, balsamic brussels sprouts, tuna tartare and classic Caesar salad. Jack Marshall will provide live music upstairs in the banquet room, while Michael Stegossi will perform downstairs in the bar.

Milito’s

Head to Milito’s for a four-course Christmas Eve dinner featuring traditional and contemporary Italian dishes artfully prepared by executive chef James Brunner. Entree choices include Cornish game hen, Chateaubriand and a Feast of Seven Fishes. Children’s entrees are available for ages 12 and under. Advanced reservations are required. Dinner service will begin at 4 p.m.; last reservations available are at 8 p.m. Cost is $40 per person.
