Wyebrook Farm Restaurant and Market Closed Indefinitely

The Honey Brook spot has shut down due to zoning concerns.

Due to local zoning concerns and issues surrounding county and state approvals and permits, the Wyebrook Farm restaurant and market in Honey Brook has closed until further notice. The farm, however, will remain open, selling its La Divisa Meats in Philadelphia’s Reading Terminal Market.

Wyebrook’s problems stem from operating as a farm-related business in an agricultural zoning district, and whether its infrastructure complies with that zoning. The Department of Environmental Protection is also questioning whether Wyebrook’s septic system is adequate and is requiring a sewage planning module to determine compliance.

Ever since it opened its doors in 2012, Wyebrook has been dedicated to producing sustainable food that benefits both the environment and the community. Its operation grew exponentially, and its small-scale farm, market and restaurant became well-known for hand-butchered meats and poultry, farm-fresh produce, artisan cheeses and farm-to-table dining fare.

In order to reopen, Wyebrook must complete the sewage planning module, which will most likely require enlarging its septic system. Meanwhile, Wyebrook reps have been working with West Nantmeal Township and attending public hearings to amend the zoning conflict.
