Jason Fehon, Pierre Robert’s producer at WMMR, can now add “cook” to his list of professions.
To honor their father, who is suffering from a rare form of dementia called frontotemporal degeneration, Fehon and his family have created a line of barbecue sauce called Bill’s Best Organic BBQ Sauce, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration in hopes of finding a cure. No stranger to making barbecue sauce himself, Fehon and his family have based Bill’s BBQ sauce on their father’s own recipe, with a few tweaks here and there. All of the ingredients are organic and many of them (butter, onions, garlic) come from local organic farms.
The barbecue sauce is also offered in a spicy variety, and is loaded with habanero peppers. Right now, Bill’s Best Organic BBQ Sauce is available at Harvest Local Goods in Lansdowne, Weaver’s Way Co-Op in Philadelphia and several other area spots a little bit more of a drive away. The sauce will be coming to Whole Foods Markets soon!
