Whiskey-Lovers Rejoice in Montgomery County

Plus, beer is booming in Conshohocken and Jenkintown.

BOTTOMS UP: Whiskey lovers, rejoice! Manatawny Still Works makes its public debut this month as the first craft-spirit operation in Montgomery County since1969. The Pottstown distillery is right next door to Sly Fox Brewing Company and was founded by Sly Fox backer John Giannopoulos. MSW launches with an un-aged white whiskey and a light rum, with an aged whiskey in the works.

TOP OF THE MORNING: Popular Philadelphia brunch spot Sabrina’s CafeÌ has finally expanded to the Main Line, opening its fourth location in Wynnewood. It occupies the former home of Sam’s Grill in the Wynnewood Shopping Center.

BEER BOOM: Conshohocken Brewing Co. is prepping for an early-year launch. Specializing in “craft-built beer” made at its 15-barrel operation on East Elm Street, the place is backed by head brewer Andrew Horne, a Great American Beer Festival medal winner from Portland, Ore.’s Breakside Brewery. In Jenkintown, Guild Hall Brewing Company should be up and running this winter, nestled in a former antiques shop on York Road. Expect original house-brewed beers, Pennsylvania wines, and a local, sustainable pub menu.
